It is All Over Dolphins

What was predicted to be by many of the so called experts to be a 7-9, 8-8 Dolphins season was just that with the Fins ending the season 7-9 after losing to the Steelers 30-24 on Sunday.  The way we got to the week 17 loss may have not been one many predicted.  Chad Pennington gets hurt in week 3 sending Chad Henne into the fire and he did solid overall in his first year as the starter completing 60.8 % of his passes good for a 75.2 QB rating.  He also threw for 12 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. I think for essentially his first season he was solid and showed flashes of brilliance with the team winning  5 of his first 7 starts.  Then Henne got hurt Sunday and Pat White came in the game and he looked mediocre and his passing was brutal.  He then got knocked out by Ike Taylor sending him to the hospital.

Let’s all hope for a speedy recovery for Pat.   The Defense was all about the big plays as they could not prevent them either via the air or the ground. It was evident again yesterday with Rashard Mendenhall and Willie Parker having 36 and 34 yard runs respectively.  Via the air Mike Wallace caught at 54-yard touchdown pass against the vaunted Dolphins defense.

Lots of changes are in order on both sides of the football and the draft will be key with the club desperate for a top notch wide receiver and a Nose Tackle to name a few.  I can not wait for April when the Fins have the 12th pick in the draft.  Can you say Wide Receiver Dez Bryant from Oklahoma State?   We have lots of time to debate.
